Stylish high functioning
This burner unit is well constructed, solid and slick, with very small foot print. Easy to use and easy to clean, would be a great backup or vacation cook top. However, there are a couple of issues I have that I would not use it often:1. Heating surface is too small, only suitable for small pots and sauce pans. Even though the glass surface is 7.5" in diameter, the actual heating part is only about 5" wide. With my small sauce pan, about 6" wide, I can see only the center part is cooking (as shown with attached pictures). Very restrictive and not very practical for every day use.2. Safety issues. The power level knobs and the indicator lights are designed in an "approximate" way. Except for turning the heat all the way up, any lower heating level is just a guest. Why do I say that? because the indicate light will be off even when stuff is cooking at a lower heat. Then it will suddenly brighten up when it kicks the heat up, as the attached video shows.I don't think it is very safe to have the indicator lights go off during the cooking. It can be easily perceived as power off. Also, the small size of the stove surface with a very slippery glass top, hot pots or pans could tip or slip over by the accidental bumps or swipes on the handles.More warning should be given about the indicator lights (being off when power is still on) and the handling of the pots on a small slippery surface.
I originally ordered this double hot plate for camping, but recently had to put it to use at home, and it’s proven to be a solid, reliable backup option. It features a main power switch and individual temperature control knobs for each plate. Once activated, the plates heat up like a regular stove and cycle off periodically to prevent overheating, great for safety. It took about 10 minutes to bring water to a boil for eggs, which is reasonable for a portable setup. The temperature is adjustable, giving flexibility depending on what you're cooking. The only downside is when using larger pans, the heat doesn’t distribute evenly, so frequent stirring is needed. After use, the hot plate cools down quickly and is easy to pack away, making it perfect for keeping things tidy or taking on the go. Whether you're camping or need a quick indoor solution, this is a dependable and compact appliance to have on hand.
This infrared dual-burner cook-top gets the job done but isn’t as efficient or quick as induction. Boiling two cups of water took about 4–5 minutes, while an induction cook-top would accomplish it in roughly half the time. That said, it’s not a big deal overall because it's quick enough and also this cook-top has the benefit of two burners. The ceramic surface is similar to most modern stoves, making cleaning easy. Pictured marks from cooking wiped right off. This much better than the coil models you typically find at this price point at department stores. Speaking of price, it's a solid value overall. The design is great, especially its long stance, which helps prevent tipping. Build quality is fine, though I expected it to be slightly heavier. The knobs work well but could use a bit more resistance to provide better feedback.
I love this. First off the red color is a win. Beautiful color and the shiny black surface of the plates look cool. There was a sticker on it that said it'll smoke for 3-5min possibly after the first use and which is normal. Mine didn't smoke at all. Did give a slight smell for a few min but nothing bad at all. This heats up fast. And cooks well. It's not as hot as my stove it seems. Perhaps it's the smaller heating element size. The actual heating element is only like 5.5 inches wide. So it is smaller, and you can see in my picture the size of the element. I really feel it's smaller then in the pictures then provide but maybe I'm wrong. This cooked the stir fry and corn I tried on this perfectly. I'm happy with the result. It's portable and lightweight. Its super easy to use. There's only an on and off switch and then the control for each hot plate.
